 The Blount County Fire Protection Utility District is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on its Board of Commissioners. The Commissioners of the District serve four-year terms. Vacancies are filled by appointment by the Blount County Mayor from a list of three nominees certified by the Board of Commissioners. A vacancy will exist on May 11, 2026 , due to the expiration of the term of a current member. The Board plans to certify a list of three nominees to the Mayor at its regular business meeting on April 21, 2026 . Requirements for Consideration To be eligible for nomination, an individual must meet the following statutory and local criteria: Residency/Subscriber Status: Candidates must reside within the District’s boundaries and be a current customer (active subscriber) of the Blount County Fire Protection Utility District.
